Hula Hoopla
So I’ve been hoping to replace my current Squirrelmail webmail solution with something more gMail-esque and I heard about this new project called Hula. It’s an Opensource spinoff of Novell’s NetMail system and in addition to doing mail it also does Calendars and can replace your MTA (like Sendmail or Postfix) and IMAP/POP3 servers.
Right now I’m hosting a site that makes tarballs out of every new SVN commit called HulaTar and in the future I will be writing a Hula-friendly PocketPC Activesync Provider for Calendar, Contacts and maybe Email if there is enough interest. I also hope to develop a new db-based storage backend for Hula (mbox and MailDir are just a wee bit outdated) .
Check the project out and pitch in if you can! We ‘hoopers’ tend to meet in #hula on the FreeNode IRC Network

Thanks for the tarballs! I have been building packages for ArchLinux that use the tarballs. Would it be possible to add the md5 hashes for the tarballs on the site? That would save me some time on my end, and should be pretty easy to automate.
Thanks again!

Been using the tarballs with no problems (thanks) but have tried building the same for some of the latest SVN versions with no luck. Don’t suppose you want to send me the process you went through to get from SVN to tarball?
Cheers

Perhaps you could fix this on you HulaTar
Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /mnt/www/kelley.ca/www/hulaTar/tars/hula-r162.tgz.info on line 8

could you please put a hula-latest.tar.gz symlink or something like that? that would be tremendously supportive.

A problem with hula-tar again. Still getting the parse errors, and it seems that tarballs stopped being generated at r209 (up to r212 now).
If you are no longer maintaining the hulatars, could you post the scripts you use to check it out automatically?

Is there any place where I can get the last version of Hula before it was stopped? I really want to try it out.

Hula was forked into the Bongo Project just as Novell was transferring it to The Messaging Architects. You can find Bongo at http://www.bongo-project.org/
