Crossroads

So it’s been a long time since I’ve written and a lot of things have happened since November. Most recently I left the comfortable familiarity of Halifax and even Canada to move to Newport Beach, California.

I’ve been here since January 9th trying to figure out where I’m going to be and what I’m going to be doing for the next few years of my life and I’ve just about come to a conclusion on that one – I should be able to share more with you all soon on that.

While I’ve been here figuring things out I’ve had the chance to get out and enjoy the warmth down here compared to back home – I’ll take 20 degrees over -5 in January any day of the week. Newport is a nice enough place, not too big but definatively not the picture that all of you O.C. watchers have in your mind – Newport Coast might be like that but I haven’t passed through their pearly gates to check it out yet. Anyway, I haven’t had the chance to do much travelling or sightseeing although I did manage to make it out to a small club tonight to check out some of the the indie band scene here in SoCal. There were a few local bands that were mediocre but I did get to see The Like (a trio of young ladies from LA, well originally England IIRC) who were very good with the exception of their drummer who seems to favor pounding the drums and looking a lot like Emily Rose going through an Exorcism.

Anyway, feel free to give me a shout if you are or are going to be in Southern California in the next few months, I’d love to see some familiar faces. Oh – check back soon, I should have some exciting news to share.
