Have not bought the Kensington yet, but am considering it after talking with Palm. Decided to investigate the driver issue and found this thread. Tried to use the link from Mike and there is nothing at the MSI website anymore that I can find?? Searched the website itself for vista 32/64bit driver and came up with nothing.

Is there any new help?

Thanks to this thread, I now have the Kensington Bluetooth adapter running on 64-bit Windows Vista and can sync with a Tungsten E2. I guess that is the price we pay for living on the bleeding edge of technology? Thanks again, for everyone's help here.

One thing that Mike does not mention, I assume that he meant it when posting the info on how to fix this issue, but nonetheless for us slower types out there that are still having issues with this, the fix is simple. Mike is correct. You may not be installing properly. You have to know what system you are running with vista. If you are running 32 or 64 it doesn't matter from my experience dealing with these components. When you unzip the file you must actually install the setup from the correct folder be it 32 or 64. I had no issues from there on.

Thanks Mike

.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

"All,

I’ve been struggling with the Kensington Bluetooth support issue and Kensington’s brain-dead response (they are too lazy to write a Vista 64 bit driver) as well. I tried the Toshiba 5 driver, which is for XP and it mysteriously worked for a couple of months, then froze my HP dv9500 AMD machine. I suspect a Windows update did it in.

I am happy to say that the MSI site download URL in post 10 worked fine with the Kensington Bluetooth USB 2.0 adaptor, model 33348, though the hyperlink in post number 10 is messed up. Go to
http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=131&prod_no=101,
scroll down to select the Windows Vista 32/64 bit download (46 MB), version 6.0.1.3400, dated 2007-03-19, download it, unzip it, uninstall any other driver, reboot, install the new download and it should work for you. Since installation, I’ve rebooted, synched up over Bluetooth between Outlook and a Nokia 6086 phone, unplugged the Bluetooth device, etc, and all is well. The sync of several hundred Outlook items went pretty quickly - maybe 2 minutes. So, while I have some issues with Vista Ultimate 64 bit and like Linux better for lots of reasons, Kensington Bluetooth support no longer seems to be one of them. Please try it for yourself and post to other sites to let everyone know.

Good luck to the other Vista 64 bit pioneers. It ain’t right but it is reality….
